I’ve been a vegetarian since 1982 and a vegan since 2011. Switching to a vegan diet is not a decision one takes lightly. We live in a non-vegan world, and to live as a vegan can be a challenge at times. There are many misconceptions about what it means to be vegan. It’s not just about eating salads and beans!
Lack of information about animal ingredients in many products makes every purchasing decision difficult. This is true not just for food, but for all other products as well.
Traveling in particular becomes a challenge, as the unfamiliarity with another country or city makes it difficult to adhere to a vegan life-style.
As a result, I set up this website, The Vegan Tourist, where I blog about my life as a vegan
My first book, The Vegan Tourist: Vienna, was published in November 2014.
